How it works

Many people have a large number of unwanted items but neither the time, inclination or knowledge to deal with a sale on the eBay site. I can take away all the hassle and do everything for you.

After you contact me, I will arrange to visit you and we will discuss the description and price of the items. I will then take the items and prepare the eBay details including photographs. The items will be placed on eBay for sale either by auction or on a buy it now basis depending on your choice. The various options will be discussed and agreed at the initial meeting.

I will deal with eBay fees, PayPal fees and postage costs when the item has been sold . When the money has been received from the buyer, I will send you the proceeds of sale, after deduction of my fee on the agreed basis. If the item does not sell, I will contact you. I can either re-offer it on eBay (possibly at a reduced initial price) or I will return the item to you. There will be no charge if the item does not sell so, in simple terms, you have nothing to lose

This is what it will cost

My inclusive fees will be 38% of the total sale price.

The fee includes all eBay and PayPal fees, preparing, placing and maintaining the eBay listing, dealing with questions from bidders, postage, packaging etc.

The fees stated above are on the assumption that the item sells for less than £500, can be placed in a box which measures no more than 61cm x 46cm x 46cm, weighs no more than 2kg and ships to a UK mainland address.

I will consider items that do not meet these criteria but it will be necessary to agree a fee structure in advance.

After much thought, I have decided not to deal with the sale of items with a start price of less than £10. In the past, I have sold items for as little as £3 but, although the preparation work is the same as for more expensive items, the net proceeds to me and the client are too small to make it an economic exercise. I will honour any listings in progress with existing clients.

I am a retired chartered surveyor who lives in Shoreham by Sea, West Sussex. I cycle every day and try to keep myself fit.
